We are saddened to report the death of our Life Member, Ian Dewar, who passed away at Borders General Hospital this morning.
Ian or"Faither" as he was affectionately known was a great servant of the club and whilst he was a player and Past President he will chiefly be remembered as a key member of the team that built our clubhouse at Stoneyhill.
Ian moved to Kelso a number of years ago but maintained a close interest in what was happening at "his club".
Despite failing health Ian took every opportunity to keep in touch with his friends at the Burgh. We were especially pleased that he was able to visit the club last year to see that the clubhouse bar had been named 'The Ian Dewar Bar' in recognition of his efforts in its creation.
We have lost a true gentleman who will always have a special place in our hearts and minds. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.
Thank you for your communication on the death of Ian. This kind of news is difficult to respond to.
