Musselburgh RFC joins forces with White Ribbon Scotland
Musselburgh RFC is delighted to announce a new partnership with White Ribbon Scotland, a charitable organisation that works to involve men and boys in ending violence and abuse against women.
Musselburgh RFC will proudly display the White Ribbon Scotland logo across all of its senior men and women’s playing strips. In addition, MRFC’s senior leadership is working closely with the charity to explore ways in which the club can actively support its work. White Ribbon Scotland has already provided posters and White Ribbon badges, which will be displayed around the clubhouse.
One of White Ribbon's key campaigns is encouraging people to sign up to their pledge:
"Most men do not commit violence against women. But all men have a role in ending it. If we all start by making a pledge never to commit, condone or remain silent about men's violence against women in all its forms, that will make a huge difference."
Musselburgh RFC President Ian McMillan said:
“As a strong community-based organisation with inclusion as one of our core values, we feel we have a responsibility to continue to promote positive and responsible behaviour across our membership. The club is proud of its strong reputation as a safe and welcoming place for everyone who comes through its doors and we will work as hard as we can to maintain this. Our playing membership has never been larger or more vibrant, with women and girls by far our fastest growing group. We think now is a particularly important time to reinforce our core values by working with White Ribbon Scotland. In doing so we hope to amplify the charity’s voice and core messages across our local community and across the rugby community in Scotland.
