Remembering Gavin Maxwell

Musselburgh RFC is very shocked and saddened to announce that our friend and former teammate Gavin Maxwell, age 52, passed away suddenly at home in Tauranga NZ last week, where Gavin moved to in the 90’s.
If ever there was a quiet man who did his talking on the pitch, it was Gavin. Gavin played for the club from the minis onwards, progressing through to play scrum half for our 1st XV. Gavin also represented Scotland at age grade level. He was especially renowned for his talent and prowess on the 7’s circuit, where he was pretty much unstoppable.
Our thoughts and condolences go to his dad Cammy, his wife Amanda and his kids Liam, Rhianna and George.
