Summary: Musselburgh RFC AGM 2026

The 2026 Annual General Meeting of Musselburgh Rugby Football Club took place on the 11th June at Stoneyhill.



Ian McMillan was appointed as new President of the club, becoming the 34th person to take charge. Past President Blair Stewart will remain on the board in the role of Vice President, with John McGhee replacing Jill Irving as Treasurer and Janet Scott returning to the role of Secretary. Grant Talac remains in the role of Director of Rugby, and Alistair Scott, Graham Jamieson and Alistair Bonthron retaining their positions as General Board Members.


Sandy Watt takes on the role of Senior Men's Captain, taking over from brother Rory Watt after a three year stint. His vice captains have been appointed to Paul Cunningham and Jordan Lister.


Hayley Wright takes on the position of Senior Women's Captain from Lara McLean, while Karly Yorkston remains in her position as vice captain.


Two honorary presidents of the club were nominated in, as John Spalding and Iain Leitch joined the list.


The events surrounding the club dinner were acknowledged, and there is a commitment to implementing the agreed actions and plans going forward.


Membership fees will remain unchanged for the coming season. Improvement works are continuing at both the training grounds and Pinkie to enhance facilities for all sections of the club. The club is currently operating at a small surplus, indicating a positive financial position. New volunteer roles, including a Sponsorship Manager position and a Women and Girls Convenor, will be advertised on the website and will be open to all club members.


No changes were made to the constitution.
