A message from our board to members:
There has today been a communication from Scottish Rugby which as we expected confirms that there will be no National or Regional League competitions this season.
Instead we will hopefully be playing in regional conferences along similar lines to the Pro 14 with the potential of playing in a cup final at Murrayfield in Spring 2021.
We have not had confirmation of the conference we will be placed in but it is likely that our initial competition will come from the Edinburgh Teams (Currie, Edinburgh Accies, Heriots, Watsonians and Boroughmuir) who we will expect to play on a home and away basis.
I am sure you will agree these will be attractive fixtures one and all. Scottish Rugby have set a target date of 31st October for the competitive fixtures to commence though of course a lot will depend on where we are in the battle with the Coronavirus.
The situation with regard to spectators and clubhouse capacity will follow Government guidance applying at the time of the fixtures so we remain unsure of what restrictions will be in place then. Needless to say unless there is some further relaxation of the restrictions currently in place then the match day experience will be far removed from what we have become used to.
We hope that a provisional fixture list will be made available by mid-September and we will communicate further as soon as we have more information.
