We are delighted to announce the official opening of our brand new gym facilities and upgraded changing rooms this weekend ahead of our Premiership fixture against Currie.
These will be opened by East Lothian Provost John McMillan in the presence of various project funders, supporters and club sponsors
In a press release, MRFC President Drew Johnston "Many people had 'lockdown projects'; ours was to build a new community gym facility and upgrade our changing rooms. It has been a long and challenging journey, but we are delighted with the end result. As a flourishing organisation competing at the highest level in Scottish club rugby, it is vital we provide the best facilities possible. Not only to develop our players across all ages and levels; but also to strengthen our presence across the wider community, who we hope will also use these new facilities. These new and upgraded facilities were designed to allow the club to fulfil our core values of Integrity, Respect and Inclusion; and we look to the future with much confidence."
"There are too many individuals to thank, but particular mention goes to ex MRFC player Neil Smith who project managed this for us. We must of course thank and acknowledge our various funders and supporters, not only for their backing but for their belief in what we are trying to achieve. East Lothian Council, Musselburgh Common Good Fund, sportscotland, Scottish Rugby, Musselburgh Area Partnership and The Musselburgh Trust have all backed the project; and we are overwhelmed by their support. Many of our members have also provided support and appear on our 'wall of fame' positioned within the new facility. "
